1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use wcagent. If you use wcagent for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.
You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials and browser profile, and activity conducted through your account. Do not share credentials in a way that defeats account or subscription controls. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. The wcagent service
wcagent coordinates coding tasks between the WebCodingAgent VS Code extension, wcagent services, and an eligible AI service you select. The AI service supplies model responses; the desktop extension supplies repository context and performs permitted local tools, commands, and file changes.
wcagent is an independent product and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or part of the AI providers, browser vendors, Microsoft, or other third parties whose products it may interoperate with unless expressly stated otherwise. wcagent does not include, sell, or resell access to an AI model.
3. Free trial, subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds
Trial
The current wcagent trial lasts seven days and does not require payment-card details when started through the advertised trial flow. Trial eligibility may be limited to one trial per person, account, organization, or other reasonable anti-abuse measure.
Paid plan
The current standard plan is offered at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year for the same product features, as described on the Pricing page. Prices, taxes, currencies, and payment options shown at checkout control for a purchase. We may change pricing prospectively by giving notice required by applicable law.
Renewal and cancellation
A paid subscription renews at its selected billing interval until canceled. You may cancel to stop future renewal. Cancellation does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for time already billed unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise at purchase.
Seven-day money-back guarantee
For the paid plan currently advertised on our Pricing page, you may request a full refund within seven days after the applicable purchase. Any additional statutory refund or withdrawal rights available to you remain unaffected. Payment and refund processing is handled by the payment provider identified at checkout.
4. Third-party AI, browser, editor, and platform services
wcagent depends on third-party services that we do not control, including AI providers, browsers, VS Code, operating-system facilities, hosting providers, and payment services. You are responsible for obtaining, paying for, and maintaining any third-party account needed for your chosen setup.
An eligible AI connection uses a provider, account type, and integration method whose applicable terms permit its use with wcagent. A connection being technically available in wcagent does not imply provider endorsement. Your use remains separately governed by the provider’s terms, policies, account settings, availability, charges, and usage limits.
wcagent does not increase, reset, conceal, or bypass provider usage limits and does not defeat authentication, CAPTCHAs, safety systems, geographic restrictions, or other technical access controls. If a provider refuses or limits a request, wcagent reports that result and cannot make the provider accept it.
You must use third-party services in compliance with their terms and applicable law. You may not access another person’s account, defeat usage controls, or use credentials you are not permitted to use.
5. Local execution, repositories, and review
WebCodingAgent can request and, when permitted by your local settings, execute commands and modify files in repositories you open. Coding agents can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing proposed and completed changes, maintaining appropriate backups and version control, protecting secrets, choosing approval settings appropriate for the repository, and validating code before deployment or other consequential use.
Local safety controls, workspace confinement, approvals, conflict checks, secret-redaction measures, tests, and evidence can reduce risk but do not eliminate it. Do not grant wcagent access to repositories, systems, credentials, or data you are not authorized to use.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use wcagent to violate law or the rights of others; gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, repositories, or data; distribute malware; interfere with the service; evade rate limits or access controls; probe or exploit the service without authorization; misuse another person’s credentials or subscription; facilitate fraud; or use wcagent in a way that materially harms the service, its users, or third parties.
You may perform good-faith security research on systems you own or are expressly authorized to test, subject to any published security or responsible-disclosure rules. We may restrict activity that reasonably appears abusive, unsafe, fraudulent, or unlawful.
7. Your code, prompts, and other content
As between you and wcagent, you retain your rights in code, files, prompts, instructions, and other content you provide to the service. You grant wcagent only the rights reasonably necessary to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and otherwise handle that content to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide the content and to authorize the processing required for your use of wcagent. Outputs produced with a third-party AI provider may also be subject to that provider’s terms.
8. wcagent intellectual property
wcagent, WebCodingAgent, our website, product design, branding, software, documentation, and related technology are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for rights expressly granted to you, we reserve all rights in the service.
These Terms do not grant you permission to use our names, logos, trademarks, or branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without permission.
9. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, or feedback about wcagent, you permit us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to improve, develop, or promote the service. This does not transfer ownership of your underlying code or confidential repository content.
10. Service changes, beta features, and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves. Some features may be preview, beta, experimental, or dependent on changing third-party interfaces. We may impose reasonable technical limits to protect reliability, security, or fair use.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, a particular model, a particular third-party integration, or that an AI provider will accept or correctly answer every request. Provider outages, sign-outs, subscription limits, browser changes, network failures, or editor changes may interrupt a task.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, wcagent and related services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that generated code, recommendations, commands, tests, security findings, or other model output will be correct, complete, secure, suitable, or free from defects. AI output may be inaccurate or unsafe. You remain responsible for human review and for decisions made using the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, wcagent and its affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or service interruption arising from or related to your use of wcagent.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to wcagent for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. The limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Responsibility for your use
To the extent permitted by applicable law, if you use wcagent on behalf of a business or organization, that organization is responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from its unlawful use of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights, except to the extent caused by wcagent’s own unlawful conduct.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using wcagent at any time and may cancel a paid subscription to prevent future renewal. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment, or conduct that materially threatens the service or other users.
Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an opportunity to cure before termination, but immediate action may be necessary for security, fraud, unlawful activity, or urgent operational risk. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, intellectual-property protections, disclaimers, liability limits, and general legal terms, will survive.
15. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any additional terms presented for a specific paid service form the agreement governing your use of wcagent. If a specific written order or enterprise agreement signed by both parties conflicts with these Terms, that signed agreement controls for the conflict.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your agreement or account rights without our consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise. We may transfer these Terms in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the service or related assets.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service, business model, third-party integrations, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects existing users, we will provide additional notice when required. Your continued use after an updated version takes effect means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
17. Contact
